Loving food comes in two packages, eating and cooking. My site will reflect my learnings, tips, recipes and some really neat things I want to share during my current year in Culinary School.
As a mother and wife for over 20 years (a lady never reveals her age lol), I’ve been cooking in many home kitchens for many family, friends, guests and colleagues. Even though I had a full time career, I finally saw an opportunity while I was perusing the internet and specifically Facebook for Culinary Arts School. As I clicked on it and clicked some more, filled out a few forms, answered a few questions and phone calls, I found out I qualified for a pell grant and a student loan with not much out of pocket upfront. I think I may have paid like a $40 administration fee. No payments until 6 months until after I graduate so I took the plunge. I was accepted, went through orientation and before long my kit came. SO I DECIDED BETWEEN CLASSES, COOKING, AND EVERYTHING ELSE ON MY DAILY MENU I’D GIVE THIS FOOD BLOG A GO….
A little more about me: I have a wonderful supportive husband who as a couple we decided that I could give up that full time job and commit to school, home, God, family and our marriage, not all necessarily in that order of course. Let’s just say God’s blessed us enough for us to trust him to provide our every need and occasionally our wants for me to be able to stay home and my husband to be the bread winner and bring home the bacon. One this is for sure, we don’t go hungry!
